Living from Love

The Way of the Community of the Wayfinder

Core Vision

Living from Love. Dwelling in God's Presence.
Accompanying others on the journey Home.

A Christian community within Forge Aotearoa, called to live from Love, not performance - following Jesus' invitations:

Come to me Abide in me Learn from me Follow me
The Essence

The Way

"The Way is a rhythm, not a rulebook - about presence, not performance."

Rooted in abiding in God's Love, returning again and again to the truth that we are already held by God.

Inspired by Hildegard's viriditas (greening life), Julian of Norwich's embrace of God, and Dallas Willard's unforced rhythms of grace.

The Metaphor

Wayfinding

Drawn from Polynesian navigation - guided by stars, swells, and Spirit rather than maps.

"Discipleship is like navigating by Love - listening, discerning, and trusting the Spirit's subtle movements."

Te Waka (The Canoe)

Crewed together - a metaphor for communal faith, shared trust, and spiritual journeying. No one navigates alone.

Symbols of the Waka

Anchor, sail, rudder - each symbol expresses how the vows guide the Way of our community life.

Pledges of the Order

The Six Vows

Each vow is both spiritual compass and daily practice - anchors of grace, not burdens.

Te Punga - The Anchor

Living from Love

Live from the Love that already holds you; rest, don't strive.

Te Matau - The Hook

Attentive Presence

Listen deeply - to God, creation, others, and your own soul.

Te Tatā - The Bailer

Sacred Rhythm

Balance solitude, community, and service to sustain life.

Te Rā - The Sail

Embodied Trust

Trust God's presence, even in uncertainty; return rather than arrive.

Tiratu - The Mast

Compassionate Presence

Carry presence more than answers; walk gently with others.

Te Hoe - The Rudder

Simplicity and Mission

Live lightly, declutter your life, and join God's reconciling work.

Daily Practice

The Way of Life

A daily rhythm of resting, noticing, trusting, walking gently, and returning to Love. The Way is a living compass, adaptable to each person's context.
